The Toh Kian Chui Foundation (TKCF) has donated a sum of $100,000 to each of the 3 ITE Colleges. The donation shall be used to provide needy students who face special hardship circumstances and need regular financial assistance to help them with daily expenses (such as meals, transport, etc) so as to be able to continue with and complete their studies in ITE.
To be eligible for the financial assistance under TKCF, a student should meet the following criteria:
> Is not receiving a monthly training allowance as a sponsored student or a scholarship or bursary recipient;
> Has good conduct, regular attendance and positive attitude towards study; and
> Has at least 3 months' study to undergo till the end of the academic year.
Priority will be given to those from families with lower per capita income and to families with member(s) who are unable to work, need to incur high medical expenses or suffer from other hardships.
The quantum of award is $150 per month, up to Mar 2012 (the period of award differs on a case by case basis).
